Description: 2020 Computer Aided Planning (CAP) is an Automatic computer aided drafting (AutoCAD)-based professional space planning and specification software that allows the user to design a business workspace with accurate furniture specifications.

The software consists of two base applications: 2020 Cap and 2020 Worksheet, both are covered in this analysis. The former is a space planning application, the latter software is used for product specification, pricing, and creating proposals. The software is supported by a database of furniture manufacturer catalogs and supports the use of AutoCAD symbols, allowing the creation of itemized furnishing worksheets and accurate inventory lists for use in required purchasing paperwork.

This technology is available in three editions: 2020 CAP, CAP Complete, and 2020 Giza. CAP Complete includes a built-in CAD system, whereas, 2020 CAP relies on separate AutoCAD and AUTOCAD Architecture and 2020 Giza is a non-AutoCAD-based tool with the integrated features to import from and export to AutoCAD. This entry covers all three editions.
