Description: Humphrey Field Analyzer (HFA) II-i Application software assists users to view, transfer and export patient visual field test results. This software guides and contributes to the diagnosis of the condition affecting the patient`s vision. Also, it has the capability to connect to Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA).

This technology stores data locally in a proprietary database. The HFA can transmit exam reports in Portable Document Format (PDF) or Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) to a Windows shared folder using Common Internet File System (CIFS). In addition, the HFA can transmit exam data in a protected format to a Windows share folder, for backup and restore purposes.

This technology is deployed in conjunction with a hardware device. It can be deployed via a floppy disc or a Universal Serial Bus (USB).

There is a II-I and a III-I edition of this software. The II-I and III-I are different applications as they support different hardware devices. This entry only covers the II-I software.
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
