General Information

Description: iPass Visitor Management System provides an application to pre-register and register visitors, while also providing custom badging services and maintaining a real-time and historical list of current and pending authorized visitors. iPass Visitor Management System uses ID (identification) scanning, electronic signatures, pre-registration web portal of individuals, e-mail notifications, and custom printed visitor badges.

iPass itself was rebranded as Visitor Management in version 6.2 and, per the vendor, the names are interchangeable. Some of the documentation references iTrak, rather than iPass/Visitor Management specifically but this is normal; iPass/Visitor Management is available is a module in iTrak or as a separate standalone installation. The requirements are the same, however, as standalone iPass uses the same server architecture and is largely a stripped down version of iTrak.
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
