Description: MapForce Graphical Data Mapping, Conversion, and Integration Tool is a any-to-any graphical data mapping, conversion, and integration technology. This technology has the functionality to map data between any combination of Extensible Markup Language (XML), database, flat file, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Excel, eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), and/or Web service. MapForce then transforms data instantly or it auto-generates royalty-free data integration code for the execution of recurrent conversions.

There are multiple editions of this technology: Enterprise, Professional, and Basic Editions. Each edition provides the same base functionality, with the Enterprise edition providing the most advanced functionality. This assessment covers all editions.

The supported databases for this technology include Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, Oracle Database, MySQL, DB2, Microsoft Access, PostgreSQL, and SQLite. The database query tab allows users to directly query any major database independently of the mapping. When users connect to a database, MapForce displays its tables in a hierarchical tree in the browser pane. Users can then use the SQL editor tab to display, edit, and execute SQL or SQL/XML statements, with auto-complete functionality to assist.

Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
Section 508 Information: This technology has been assessed by the Section 508 Office and found non-conformant.
