Description: UModel is a Unified Modeling Language (UML) solution used for software modeling and application development that supports all 14 UML 2.4 diagram types. This technology includes a UML diagram for Extensible Markup Language (XML) Schemas and for tables in Structured Query Language (SQL) databases. UModel can be used by developers and system architects to design application models in UML and generate Java, C#, or Visual Basic .NET code and project documentation from the created UML class diagrams. This technology can also be used to reverse engineer existing programs and generate the UML 2.4 diagrams.

This technology is available in three editions: Basic, Professional, and Enterprise. The Basic edition supports single-user use and excludes layers, database integration, automation, and model driven architecture functionality. The Professional edition supports SQL databases, System Modeling Language (SysML) and Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) diagrams, diagram layers, automation, and Visual Studio and Eclipse integration. The Enterprise edition has all the functionality of the Basic and Profession editions, plus support for Model Driven Architecture, which allows transformation of UML elements between different programming languages.

Note: This assessment applies to the Basic, Professional, and Enterprise editions of this technology.

This technology does not store data, however, through this technology`s database diagrams it can import existing tables from all popular relational databases to create UML database diagrams, modify diagrams for existing tables, or design new database tables and relationships from scratch.
