NICE Cyber Workforce Framework Application
Focus Area Definition
VA is at the forefront of promoting a common understanding of the cyber workforce that views cyber, and the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework, as inclusive of multiple skill communities that represent a wide range of Federal positions and practitioners. Through this common understanding, VA collaborates with Federal partners, including the NICE community, to develop cyber workforce initiatives and resources that leverage the NICE Framework to support the growth and development of the Federal cyber workforce, while reducing duplication of effort.
Objectives
Apply Cyber Workforce Framework in order to:
- Collaborate with Federal partners and the NICE community to create and develop cyber workforce initiatives and resources leveraging the NICE Framework
- Generate Federal-wide learning objectives to provide clear guidance on standardized baseline training
- Develop cyber career pathways to visualize, build, and navigate careers and roles within the Federal Government
- Shape and standardize Federal cyber workforce legislation, policies, and guidance
