Description: EMTrack, formerly Intermedix EMTrack, is a patient and population tracking solution. This technology provides users with a platform for tracking patients, evacuees, and general population movement during a crisis, large scale public event, or daily patient transports. Additionally, EMTrack includes functionalities for inbound patient coordination and can notify hospitals in advance to prepare for high-risk patients as well as proactively alert staff, reserve treatment rooms, and mobilize resources.

This technology stores data in a proprietary database. The EMTrack server application runs on an application server within VA`s firewall which connects directly to a database cluster.

This technology includes support for capturing data online, offline, and via mobile devices. Users can use mobile phones to scan-in patients on-scene and track through triage, treatment, transfer, and hospital reception.

This entry covers the Desktop Edition of this technology and not any mobile versions. Please note that the implementation of mobile technology applications that operate on Mobile Operating Systems must be reviewed and authorized by the Mobile Technology and Endpoint Security Engineering Team: http://vaww.eie.va.gov/SysDesign/CS/MT/default.aspx.

Note: The EMTrack server application runs on an application server (behind firewalls, load balancers, and web servers) which connects directly to a database cluster. The mobile applications (iOS, Android, Windows) connect to the application server via web services.
