Description: The American College of Physicians` (ACP) comprehensive Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP) provides residents and practicing physicians with an up-to-date study resource for American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification and recertification. MKSAP is designed as a clinical reference, self-assessment software, and board-prep resource where results can be compared with national averages.

This technology is available in several editions; MKSAP Print, MKSAP Digital, and MKSAP Complete. The MKSAP Print edition has no software components and is distributed as a set of paper resources. MKSAP Digital is configured as a browser-accessed portal. MKSAP Complete contains the full functionality of the previous two editions and contains an additional desktop application. Additionally, this technology is available as a mobile application. The scope of this entry covers the MKSAP Complete edition.

Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
