OIT Publication Template

This template provides a professional, magazine-like design. This will be used for OIT publications when the report template is not appropriate. InDesign® source files are available upon request.

Basic Word Templates

• Updated DRAFT watermark to be more easily removed (text based, rather than image based)
• “For Internal Use Only” is now marked on the title page text and in the footer on subsequent pages
• Removed “Insert Document Title” on subsequent pages (see above note)
• Re-ordered layout and page numbers. Having multiple sections for different page numbers depending on the section (TOC, content pages, and appendix) has been causing hidden background images and watermarks to pile up in development. This streamlined section and page numbering will make sure docs are more likely to remain 508 compliant.
• Streamlined background images to decrease flags in accessibility checker

Report Templates

• Adjusted positioning to move names away from the fold.

Fact Sheet Template (InDesign CC)

• “For Internal Use Only” is now in the footer.
• Tech web on first page moved to the right to improve legibility. Only the first page retains the tech web.

Website

Overall structure of the site updated to accomodate future growth and ease of management. Simplified the navigation and redesigned the homepage to make it easier to find content.

Basic Word Templates (all)

• Revised tracking codes in metadata (10/10/17)
• Updated Metadata to remove “&” from acronym “OIT”
• Revised paragraph and heading line spacing and sizing
• Corrected color on headers, text, and table styles
• Revised table style so alternating rows start with white, instead of blue
• Revised watermark for easier removal
• Changed page numbering in Appendix to “continuous”
• Added additional bulleted and numbered list styles
• Added caption style
• Added two indented note styles
• Added un-numbered heading style
• Compressed background images further to reduce reported lag and file size
• Added ITOPS special purpose templates (Bulletin, Desk Reference, and Message).

PowerPoint Templates (all)

• Revised tracking codes in metadata (10/10/17)
• Updated Metadata to remove “&” from acronym “OIT”
• Re-ordered DRAFT and FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY text
• Re-named “Interstitial” to “Transition” for clarity of use (also plain language)
• Updated metadata with new tracking code
• Adjusted layout names to be better representational of content
• Renamed items in the Selection Pane for easier mapping to content

To make it easier for people to delete the draft text, we can include the following instructions:

To delete “DRAFT” from a PPT template:

1. Navigate to the “View” tab in the Command Bar Ribbon and select “Slide Master.” Make sure you are viewing the top most master slide.
2. Navigate to “Home” in the Command Bar Ribbon, select “Arrange” and then “Selection Pane.” The Selection Pane will appear on the right-hand side of the presentation.
3. Select the object labeled “DRAFT” and hide it by clicking the “eye” icon or delete it by hitting the delete key.
